SPECIAL EDITION:
Presidents’ Night 2026
(Plus Regular Bulletin Info)

On July 27, CHNR’s 2025-26 President Jim Brubaker offered his appreciation to the club for a most successful year, was the subject of an AI presentation by Mike Metts that spotlighted and enhanced Jim's dance moves, and received a “Jim” bobblehead, proclamations and presented his special awards.
Emcee Mike Metts presented Jim, longtime Padres fan and bobblehad collector, with his own bobblehead.

During the Rotary year just concluded, CHNR members donated 5,400 vounteer hours and participated in more than 60 community and international projects. CHN Rotarians helped with monthly food services, raised almost $50,000 for scholarships, sponsored youth leadership and developmental programs and projects, supported seniors and families, mental health programs and environmental efforts.
All took place on a beautiful, but cool, evening at the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Discovery Center, with everyone wearing hats and/or leis, Hawaiian shirts, flipflops or sandals—in Jim’s honor.
Among guests at the dinner event were Leslie Saldana and her husband. Leslie is the daughter of Ann and Dave Kulchin. Among the awards, outgoing Pres. Jim presented that night was the club’s Ann and Dave Kulchin Spirit of Service Award, to Bob Stonebrook.

Jim also presented two other awards in recognition of service during his 2025-26 year, honoring Nancy Starling as Rotarian of the Year and Mark Stenoien as Rookie of the Year.

After recognizing and thanking his 2025-26 board, Jim turned the stage over to Gloria Foote, who inducted 2026-27 President Kori Dolkas and her board: Bob Stonebrook, president-elect; past CHNR Pres. Wendy Wiegand, secretary; Viveka Kjellgren, treasurer; Mark Stenoien, Community Service Director; Rick Huenefeld, International Service Director; Christian Chapman, Vocational Service Director; and Bob Kreisberg, Youth Service Director.
The Club Service Director position remains open. Pres. Kori is seeking a service-minded member to step up.
Past Pres. Jim will remain on the board. Rick Huenefeld, in addition to International Service, it the club’s president-elect-elect, to follow Bob Stonebrook (2027-28) as president (2028-29).
