Dawn's expression indicates the seriousness of the presentation.
Today, the club celebrated the induction of the 100th member.  See below.
And also the 100th Anniversary of the Rotary Foundation
Maureen Simons (left)  sponsored our 100th club member, Lisa Walsh. Lisa has participated in a number of the club projects prior to this official induction. Lisa has lived in Carlsbad with her family for the past 13 years.  She currently runs a District Office for Farmer's Insurance. She volunteered to do her "Who Am I" today.
Welcome Lisa!
Jim Desmond (left) was introduced by Dave Kulchin.  Jim is a Delta pilot (30 years) and is a member of the Board of the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority. His talk today focused on the improvements at Palomar Airport. Jim explained that new turboprop carrier, Great Lakes Airline, hopes to start service back to LAX as soon as TSA returns to the site. The current 4900 foot runway is just too short for larger aircraft and there are plans to lengthen the runway several hundred feet to allow for other commercial flights.
Nancy Starling (left) presented Brad and Beth Thorpe (center) with a $1500 check to support the
Mitchell Thorpe Foundation. The Foundation provides support  to families whose children suffer from life threatening illnesses. Hi-Noon Rotary has supported this Foundation for many years.
